Average Rating for TVs

    Best TV Ever!
After researching OLED TVs extensively, I decided to go with this one. Consumer Reports gave it an excellent review and for the money, even though it was expensive, it was the best value among OLEDs. Sony's price point for the same size OLED was $1,000 more. It's not a thousand dollars better, however. This LG OLED TV is the best quality picture of any TV I've owned, and I'm glad I spent the extra money on an OLED. OTOH, the owner's manual and other literature that comes with the TV is ... read more pathetic. I'm searching online for a detailed, step-by-step manual of all its wonderful features. I'd even pay for such a book or manual, assuming it was a quality publication. For example, although the bulit-in Alexa feature works perfectly, I can't get it to respond to a single LG TV Alexa command. I've done the Alexa installation in detail according to the on-screen TV's steps, but Alexa just doesn't respond to any TV commands. I decided to not downgrade my overall rating for the above manual deficiencies because the manual situation has nothing to do with the TV itself. If anyone has any manual availability suggestions, please feel free to email me at DanK5 at Hotmail dot com. Thanks! Dan Kap, Buckeye, AZ

I was perusing the TVs on display at Costo, as I was shopping to replace my old TV that died a couple of days before. I had already walked down the first isle and turned the corner to start down the next isle. My attention was instantly drawn to this TV, which has the best picture I've ever seen! I was not planning to spend as much; but, after seeing the difference in the picture quality of this TV compared to the others, I just had to have it! I am no techie and understand very little about ... read more electronics, but I can certainly see and could see very well that the picture on this TV was exceptional. I asked the salesperson why it appears to be so much better, and he gave an awesome, if simplistic (just fine with me!), explanation and analogy. He told me that most of the other TVs on display have a backlight that lights the pixels, but the pixels in this TV each have their own light and that allows for more color/color contrast, including truer black, which is no color. Then, he told me it would be like comparing the 64 box of crayons to the 96 box of crayons. As someone who owns the 152 box of crayons, that clicked with me! He also noted that you can see the picture from the side/at an angle better on this TV than the others, which you have to be more in front of to see the picture clearly. The majority of the seating in my living room is not directly in front of the TV, so nearly everyone is watching at some sort of an angle, and it is so much better with this TV. Now that I've had the TV about a month, I am still blown away every time I turn it on. It may not be the perfect TV for everyone, especially since it's considerably more expensive than some of the others, but it is absolutely perfect for me, and I absolutely love watching it every chance I get!

    Great TV
I’ve had the TV for about 2 weeks and have been very pleased. The picture is super. The user interface is easy to use. My only disappointment is in the Google Assistant integration. My expectation was that I could turn the TV on and off from my Google Home device. Or better yet by speaking a voice command directly to the TV. I can work around that limitation with a Chromecast device but it’s less than optimum. And the Google Assistant built into the TV would be much more effective if it could ... read more used without having to hold the mic button on the remote.

    Quite an amazing TV.
We have now been using our 2019 LG 9000PUA 55" TV for a little over one week. We upgraded from a 40" 1080P LED TV. The picture quality from the upgrade is like night and day. Our main source is satellite TV that is standard HD. The LG TV has an upscaler that makes the standard HD closer to the look of 4K. There is more detail and better color than our old 1080P TV. The Full Array Local Dimming makes the dark scenes look a lot better although there is still a bit of a halo effect around objects ... read more in the really dark scenes (but not near as bad as our old TV).The smart functions on this TV are impressive and numerous. There are many built in apps for the most popular streaming services. We did use one to stream a 4k movie and the picture on it was Incredible. Makes you wish all programs were in 4K. LG also has their own channels you can stream. The TV is very easy to use due to the magic remote. All you have to do is point the remote at the TV. You get a pointer on the screen that you use to navigate the menus. You can choose from various scene options for the type of program you are watching or the type of room you are in (dark or lighted room). I prefer the HDR Effect mode. The actual look of the TV is very nice. It has a very thin bezel around the screen. Watching the TV for the last week or so has been a pleasure. The overall picture is stunning. It has enhanced our overall entertainment experience and makes watching movies even more enjoyable. I would recommend this TV to anyone the cannot afford the jump to OLED but wants the best LED TV on the market today. I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinion.

    Impressive picture and intuitive interface
The LG 55SM9000PUA was delivered in an average size box, and I was actually able to lift it by myself, owing to light TV and just enough packaging to keep it safe in transit. With everything plugged in and the TV hanging from the wall, I noticed immediately how much closer it was to the wall than the previous TV and even the LG OLED TV in the other room. There also didn't appear to be any bezels, at least they aren't visible unless the TV is on, and even then they are only a few centimeters. ... read more Setup was uneventful. I had to select a few options, give it an Internet connection, and I was ready to go.  So far so good, a clean formfactor, uncomplicated setup and I was greeted with a familiar interface. The LG 55SM9000PUA runs the latest webOS, while my LG OLED65G6P is running 3.3. They look very similar to each other, which really helps when going from using a TV in one room to another. My experience with webOS has been overwhelmingly positive, and this iteration continues to build on that. It maintains a shallow menu depth, making it easy to find most functions and is quick to get out of the way so you can get back to the content.  The smart functionality presents itself as tiles along the bottom of the screen, but only when you press the home button. It's mercifully minimalistic, instead of trying to compete with an Apple TV, cable box, or game console, it lets you use common applications like Netflix, but doesn't drown you in a TV world that feels like someone's side job.  Event the remote is pleasantly sparse, it preserves the numeric buttons for those who still have a cable box, but it primarily serves as a motion controlled pointer. It has a scroll wheel surrounded by a directional pad, providing an alternative to those who don't feel like pointing the remote at the TV. Oh, and as an added bonus, the directional buttons and scroll-click work on the Apple TV. Now whatever remote I grab is the "right one."  Honestly, I wasn't expecting much. I only had the 3rd generation Apple TV attached, so I wasn't really pushing a 4k picture. Though even with just a 1080p signal, I could tell it wasn't as soft and washed out like the old TV. Job done, I guess. At some point the TV's screensaver kicked in, the same one that runs on the OLED TV in the other room. The picture looked almost identical. I never expected to get anywhere near the same picture. Even the black levels are exceptional.  I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinion

    Surprise Feature!!!.
I purchased this tv on Black Friday!! I was looking to upsize from my old LG, and had in mind to buy a much larger Samsung, but the clarity of this tv just grabbed my eye, and it was a no brainer. The remote has great features that allows you to access all of your apps so easily, but the BIG SURPRISE was the sound quality of the tv, this tv has great sounding built-in speakers. LG always builds a superior product, with sleek designs!!! Extremely happy with my purchase!!!!!

    Instructions would help
So far this is a great TV as far as features and picture quality. I only have two issues: There is no manual and the sound must be reset when moving from an internal source to the Fios cable box. There are so many features on the TV and this is the first time I've gotten one without a detailed manual. I'm finding things out as I go and I don't like the idea of missing something or not properly configuring it. If I switch from Fios to the TV's sources, e.g. Netflix, and then switch back ... read more there is no sound. I then have to switch to something on the cable box (again e.g. Netflix) to have the sound come back. After that I can switch back to the cable channels and the sound works. Perhaps, if there were manual it would tell me how to configure this properly!

Outstanding picture and surprisingly good sound!
I've had this television for 2 weeks. It's my second LG; I also own a OLED55E7P. The picture is what I expect from LG OLED: exceptional. The surprise with this television is the sound from the TV itself. I'll be connecting to my Naim Uniti Nova and ATC speakers but the out-of-the-box sound of the E9 is at least as good as one might get from a decent sound bar. For my money LG sets the standard for video quality against which other manufacturers are measured.

    My Review for OLED65E9PUA
Purchased this tv from an amazon 3rd party reseller. First tv came in cracked, 2nd tv was the c9 delivered mistakenly, finally got the e9. Mounted above the fireplace with the lg mount. Picture is the best color I have seen on a Tv. Motion watching the puck during a hockey game is a little jittery. However all in all very happy with this tv.
