What people are saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Speakers won't work - Bought TV twice!! Both broke I bought this TV from Costco Dec 2019. Within in 2 months the speakers went bust.I returned it. Then I went to Best Buy. They said Costco get's poorer quality TV's so I bought it again. Speakers went bust after 1 month. Now, LG is stating that with the 1 yr warranty I have to get it fixed - the TV is bad news!! I don't want it fixed. I want a different TV. Yes, the picture is great but the sound doesn't work. I know I didn't get a lemon....twice....that's too much of coincidence.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Burn in after only 2 years Bought an LG OLED 2 years ago. Fantastic picture and was very pleased. However after only 2 years of ownership I have noticeable burn in which LG support verified. Unfortunately since the warranty ended after 1 year I am on my own to get fixed. No more OLEDs for me.

Which connection is faster - ethernet or WiFi?

Asked by: jim22
Ethernet is just plain faster than Wi-Fi—there’s no getting around that fact. But the real-world differences are smaller than you might think. Wi-Fi has gotten significantly faster over the last few years, thanks to new standards like 802.11ac and 802.11n, which offer maximum speeds of 866.7 Mb/s and 150 Mb/s, respectively. Even though this is a maximum speed for all your wireless devices to share (and you likely won’t get those speeds in the real world), Wi-Fi has become good enough to handle most of our daily tasks.Keep in mind that the speed of your Internet connection is the bottleneck for activities involving the Internet. If your Internet speed is significantly lower than whatever type of connection you’re using, upping the speed of that connection won’t matter much. Ethernet will, however, affect the speed between devices on your network so if want to transfer files as fast as possible between two computers in the house, Ethernet will be faster than Wi-Fi. Your Internet connection isn’t involved in this, so it’s all up to the maximum speeds your local network hardware can provide...^IFV

I watch CNBC for 3-4 hours a day (now that I'm working from home) and other mixed content for 1-2 hours a day. Should I be concerned about burn in?

Asked by: Cmartink
If you are concerned about image retention or burn-in on the LG C9 55 inch Class 4K Smart OLED TV w/ AI ThinQ® (54.6'' Diag), Model # OLED55C9PUA, then be sure to change the channels to programming that does not have static logos or static ticker tapes every so often. Watching for 3-4 hours a day should not be an issue if you don't have the contrast turned up to max and the images showing on permanently the screen. You also have the Logo Luminance Adjustment in the OLED Panel Settings that you can use to adjust the luminance of static images such as logos within content to correct potential picture quality issues...^IFV

Does this TV support Dolby Vision IQ via a future firmware update?

Asked by: leedmart2
Dolby Vision IQ is a new feature for our 2020 LG OLEDs which is essentially an updated version of Dolby Vision that is designed to optimize Dolby Vision content on your TV according to the brightness of the room. This should mean that Dolby Vision content, regardless of its overall brightness, is just as intelligible when watched in a bright room as in a dark room. This new technology is not backward compatible and so to benefit from Dolby Vision IQ you'll need a TV that specifically supports it. LG's support, meanwhile, spans its entire 2020 LG OLED TV range, which includes the CX Series and select 2020 Nanocell 4K TVs. Regrettably, we currently do not have any information about if there will be a future firmware update that includes support for Dolby Vision IQ on the LG C9 55 inch Class 4K Smart OLED TV w/ AI ThinQ® (54.6'' Diag), Model # OLED55C9PUA or other 2019 LG OLEDs. We have not made any official public announcements about plans for that...^IFV
